About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment. They provide medically related therapy services to ensure each resident attains or maintains their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, with resident choice and comfort as a priority. All services must align with facility policies, quality improvement guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations. The Physical Therapist Assistant participates in resident-centered care and team-based management, engaging in daily life activities within their assigned household. The focus is on providing support, friendship, and kindness to residents, treating everyone with respect. As a team member, they perform necessary tasks to maintain the household, which may include assisting with food preparation/serving, tidying up, removing trash, cleaning spills, transporting residents, attending meetings, and fulfilling simple resident requests.

Requirements

• Associate degree as required for initial professional preparation in Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• One year minimum health care experience, preferably in long-term care.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Ohio.
• Must be able to speak, read & write the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
• Freedom from illegal use of drugs and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace is essential.
