About The Position

Join our Reno Orthopedic Center team as a Physical Therapist Assistant! We offer a flexible ramp-up time, work under a supportive Physical Therapist, and have control over your patient volume. We provide dedicated documentation time, flexible scheduling options (like 4/10s), and guaranteed base pay. Bonuses are performance-based and paid biannually. We support your growth with $2,500 annually for CME, $10k for student loan repayment, and $3k for relocation assistance. New graduates are welcome to learn from experienced therapists. Our clinics are equipped with modern, safe equipment and ergonomic workspaces. Leadership is open, supportive, and collaborative. We have 6 locations across Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and Fernley, and will work with you to find the best fit.

Requirements

  • Active Nevada Physical Therapy license from Nevada State Board within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the patient care journey in conjunction with the Physical Therapist to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
  • Review physician’s referral and patient’s medical records and confer with patient and appropriate medical practitioners to plan, implement, and assess the intervention program.
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Test, measure and record in patient’s electronic medical record the patient’s strength, motor development, functional capacity, sensory perception, and respiratory and/or circulatory efficiency.
  • Analyze patient progress and data, record in electronic medical record and modify interventions to achieve anticipated goals and expected outcomes, including referring to other practitioners as needed.
  • Educate patients about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote health.
  • Instruct patient in use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes as well as in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
  • Discharge patient from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained; provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
