Requirements
- 2 years of experience
- Active CA PTA License
- BLS (AHA)
Responsibilities
- Carry out targeted therapeutic exercises, stretching, and mobility routines created by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
- Guide patients through walking, stairs, and weight-bearing exercises using assistive devices like walkers, canes, or crutches.
- Provide manual therapy, soft tissue massage, joint mobilization (as state scope allows), and passive range-of-motion exercises.
- Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation (E-stem), hot/cold packs, and traction to manage pain and swelling.
- Measure patient response, range of motion, and endurance, documenting updates and notifying the supervising PT when plans need adjustment.
- Teach patients proper body mechanics, home exercise programs, and safe techniques for transferring out of beds or chairs.
