The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to customers to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. This role involves organizing and facilitating treatment groups, implementing individualized treatment plans, providing treatments including modalities and exercises, and assisting the Physical Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex procedures. The PTA also instructs customers, families, and caregivers on treatment programs, collaborates with the rehabilitation team, maintains documentation, attends meetings, and ensures equipment is clean and maintained. A key aspect of the role is providing excellent customer service in a caring and compassionate manner.
