About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides patient care under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, following the physician-approved plan of care.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Active license from the California Physical Therapy Board
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical therapy treatments in accordance with the plan of care and state practice guidelines
• Help patients reduce pain, restore function, and improve mobility
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional activities
• Apply treatment modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and massage
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients on the safe use of assistive devices (e.g., walkers, canes, braces)
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing training
• Perform additional duties as assigned
