About The Position

Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care, a division of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System - Post Acute Division, offers a unique clinical environment with both a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) and a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The skilled nursing facility has 25 beds and specializes in short-term rehab, focusing on maximizing patients' functional independence. It has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report multiple times as one of the best nursing homes in the nation. The LTACH has 35 beds and provides specialized care for medically complex patients with high acuity needs, including tracheostomy and ventilator management, stroke recovery, and brain injury. The dynamic rehabilitation team includes PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, and SLPs who work collaboratively to deliver innovative, patient-centered care in a supportive, team-driven environment. The therapy department has a strong patient census, offering diverse clinical experiences across various diagnoses. Clinicians are encouraged to build meaningful relationships with patients and families, with an environment that allows time for continuity of care, supporting progress, and celebrating successes. Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant education program
  • CPR-AHA BLS
  • SC PTA License

Nice To Haves

  • One to five (1-5) years' experience in relevant practice area

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Understands treatment plan and procedure modifications.
  • Responsible for documentation of patient treatments, patient charges, and other information as needed.
  • Responsible for the supervision of ancillary staff.
  • Participates in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager or director.
  • Provides therapy according to treatment plan.
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation and billing according to practice standards.
  • Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Delegates to and supervises support staff.
  • Utilizes non-patient care time to assist others, enhance professional growth, and participate in program development.
  • Attends departmental and hospital committees and meetings.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
