About The Position

Wendell Foster is seeking a compassionate and energetic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Outpatient Services team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Wendell Foster, you'll work alongside our Physical Therapists to help children and adults with disabilities improve mobility, increase independence, and achieve their personal goals through high-quality, person-centered therapy services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
  • Current Kentucky Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification (training provided)
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, treatment techniques, and therapeutic equipment
  • Intermediate computer skills and the ability to learn specialized software
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Physical Therapists, interdisciplinary team members, individuals served, and their families
  • Passion for helping individuals maximize independence and improve quality of life

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, strength, function, and independence
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, person-centered care
  • Monitor client progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Complete accurate documentation and billing in accordance with Kentucky regulations and organizational standards
  • Meet established productivity and quality goals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and departmental meetings
  • Provide education and training to individuals, families, caregivers, and staff as needed
  • Serve as a liaison with families, staff, and community partners to promote therapy services
  • Assist with departmental needs and perform other duties that support Wendell Foster's mission
