About The Position

This position provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant assists patients in regaining their physical function and independence through therapeutic exercises, modalities, and patient education. This role is within an outpatient setting.

Requirements

Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current State of Illinois PTA license or eligibility for licensure.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
Familiarity with therapeutic exercises and modalities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Basic computer skills for documentation.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
Experience with electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care as directed by a Physical Therapist.
Implement patient treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises and modalities.
Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-management strategies.
Document patient progress and treatment provided in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment.
Assist with scheduling and administrative tasks as needed.
