The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to customers to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. Essential Functions include implementing the customer’s individualized treatment plan, providing individualized physical therapy treatments, acting as an assistant to the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures, organizing and facilitating treatment groups, instructing customers, families, and caregivers, working with other members of the rehabilitation team, maintaining appropriate documentation, attending meetings, and maintaining/reporting equipment needs. The PTA must also prioritize customer service, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care.
