About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will treat patients, maintain communication with doctors and other health personnel, supervise aides, volunteers, support staff, and students under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist in compliance with the Kentucky State Board of Physical Therapy Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Associates in a Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • Eligible for a temporary license or Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to improve functional independence and/or reduce pain such as therapeutic procedures/exercises or activities to promote ROM, strength, coordination, balance, functional mobility (bed mobility, transfers, floor transfers), ADL training, gait training, balance and vestibular training, education, and use of assistive devices.
  • Completes documentation for treatment notes and D/C summaries in a timely manner.
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending discharge disposition and assistive equipment needs.
