About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) supports licensed Physical Therapists in delivering rehabilitative care to patients. This role involves implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and documenting outcomes to help patients improve mobility, manage pain, and regain function.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current Illinois PTA license (or eligibility)
  • CPR/BLS certification (as required)
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient, inpatient, or specialty rehabilitation settings
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations (e.g., geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics)

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans developed by a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional training activities
  • Monitor and report patient responses and progress to the Physical Therapist
  • Document treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs and post-treatment care
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and safety standards
  • Assist with patient scheduling and clinic workflow as needed
