About The Position

Visiting Rehab and Nursing Services (VRNS) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing home healthcare team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This part-time position offers competitive rates, with the potential to earn up to $50 per visit. As a PTA with VRNS, you will provide skilled physical therapy services directly in patients’ homes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The role focuses on promoting mobility, strength, functional independence, safety, and quality of life through individualized care. Home care offers a unique opportunity to build relationships with patients and make a significant difference in their daily lives, providing autonomy and a variety of patient experiences.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience
• Afternoon availability

Responsibilities

• Providing skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist
• Assessing patients’ home environments and reinforcing appropriate safety strategies
• Educating patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies, and safety techniques
• Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Collaborating with Physical Therapists, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and other members of the care team
• Completing accurate and timely electronic documentation
