Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice.
New graduates welcome to apply where applicable.
Foreign-trained applicants must possess credentials deemed substantially equivalent by the applicable credentialing organization.

Nice To Haves

Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, home health, outpatient therapy, or post-acute care settings preferred.
Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance training, and mobility rehabilitation.
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist while providing high-quality, patient-centered care to help patients improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
Administer physical therapy treatments and interventions under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, gait training, balance activities, and functional rehabilitation.
Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Document treatments, patient performance, and progress accurately and timely.
Educate patients and families on exercises, mobility techniques, and safety precautions.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and professional practice standards.
