About The Position

Orthopaedic Associates is seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our orthopedic rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will assist Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care focused on restoring strength, mobility, and function following orthopedic injuries and surgeries. The PTA will play a key role in helping patients return to their active lifestyles through evidence-based therapy techniques and personalized care plans.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Strong understanding of orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented outpatient environment.
  • Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach to care.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in an orthopedic or sports medicine clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment programs developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy.
  • Assist patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, joint replacements, and musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Instruct and motivate patients in performing prescribed exercises and proper movement techniques to promote recovery and prevent reinjury.
  • Observe and record patient responses to treatments, documenting progress and reporting changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, activity modifications, and postural/body mechanics for injury prevention.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in accordance with practice and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment area and ensure proper equipment usage.
  • Participate in continuing education and staff development activities to stay current with orthopedic and sports rehabilitation techniques.
