About The Position

Ascension Providence is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant for their Outpatient department in Waco, Texas. The role involves conducting medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist, providing interventions based on a plan of care, utilizing appropriate techniques for the patient population, and documenting treatment. The position may also involve coordinating the activities of physical therapy aides, students, and other support personnel.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) credentialed from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Responsibilities

Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
Document treatment interventions given.
May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
