About The Position

Alton Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join their team. This role is ideal for a licensed PTA looking for a unique opportunity with a set schedule in an inpatient or outpatient setting. The PTA will work alongside a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and manage a diverse outpatient caseload, including orthopedic, neurological, and general medicine patients. New graduates are welcome, and a CEU budget is provided. Alton Memorial Hospital, established in 1937, is a full-service acute care hospital serving the Alton, Illinois, and surrounding communities. Its Rehabilitation Services department, known as 'The Human Motion Institute,' includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapist Assistants, and Occupational Therapists Assistants.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
  • Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • No experience required
  • No supervisor experience required
  • PTA License

Responsibilities

  • Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their health care service setting.
  • Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
  • Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
  • Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
  • Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
  • Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
