Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for assisting in assessments, determining, revising, and implementing treatment plans to identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with a focus on physical dysfunction. The PTA utilizes various treatment skills and tools to measure and assess patient needs, apply therapeutic physical agents, exercise, and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence.
