About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is hiring a full-time inpatient Physical Therapist Assistant in Temple, Texas. Under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist, the assistant helps implement therapy plans of care, directs supportive personnel for assigned patients, communicates with the supervising therapist about patient needs and treatment, and participates in education. The role also includes other professional duties related to patient care within the scope of practice. Compensation depends on the candidate’s years of experience and internal equity.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of therapy plans of care under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Delegate and direct supportive personnel for assigned patients to enhance patient care services.
• Communicate consistently with the supervising physical therapist about scheduled patients, including needs for assessment or reassessment, treatment-plan modifications, and interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participate in education for patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care within the scope of practice.
