Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Active Alabama PTA License (required)
Current BLS / Healthcare Provider certification
No prior experience required — new graduates encouraged to apply
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and assist with patient mobility throughout the workday
Ability to lift and assist patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs, occasionally over 50 lbs with assistance)
Comfortable working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases
Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and changing patient care needs

Responsibilities

Provide physical therapy treatments in accordance with professional standards and the established plan of care
Work collaboratively with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress
Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrate professional communication, caring behaviors, and a positive, patient‑focused attitude
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and safety/infection control activities
Ensure appropriate documentation and efficient use of therapy equipment and supplies
Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
