Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Active Alabama PTA License (required)
  • Current BLS / Healthcare Provider certification
  • No prior experience required — new graduates encouraged to apply
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and assist with patient mobility throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and assist patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs, occasionally over 50 lbs with assistance)
  • Comfortable working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases
  • Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and changing patient care needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatments in accordance with professional standards and the established plan of care
  • Work collaboratively with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
  • Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate professional communication, caring behaviors, and a positive, patient‑focused attitude
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and safety/infection control activities
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and efficient use of therapy equipment and supplies
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
