The Primary purpose of the Physical Therapist Assistant is to assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care under the supervision of licensed therapists. This role involves implementing and executing established patient treatment plans, communicating with patients, families, referring physicians, and other team members, and providing timely written documentation. The PTA also develops and enhances clinical and professional skills, supports department operations, and reports any changes in patient status to the supervising therapist. Associate responsibilities include preparing and submitting patient charges accurately, meeting productivity standards, ensuring safety, achieving quality patient care through interdisciplinary communication, attending meetings, providing feedback to rehab aides, and maintaining valid licensure.
