Physical Therapist, Aquatic - Outpatient
About The Position
VHC Health is excited to announce the opening of our Outpatient Pavilion! The Outpatient Rehabilitation team has moved to the new, state of the art building, which includes a brand new aquatic program. Our pool is the HydroWorx 750 in ground model with a treadmill, video monitoring with front and side views, resistance jets, and a quick water depth adjustment feature. Whether you have aquatic experience or not, if you are interested in aquatic therapy, we would like to talk with you. Our patient population will include those with varied diagnoses such as orthopedic, spine, neurological, chronic pain and connective tissue disorders. Our aquatic therapists will be part of a large, interdisciplinary team that values continual learning and evidence based practice. Specialty rounds are consistently scheduled for therapists to meet for article reviews to collaborate, discuss interesting cases, provide support, learn further techniques as a group and stay up-to-date with today’s advancements. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in physical therapy is required.
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.
- BLS certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree or doctorate in physical therapy is preferred.
- One year of experience in physical therapy is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Patient and client management, which includes diagnosis and prognosis, to optimize physical function, movement, performance, health, quality of life, and well-being across the lifespan.
- Contributions to public health services aimed at improving population health and the human experience.
