Under the direction of the Supervisor, Radio Systems, the Physical Security Technician I, is responsible for facilitating repairs, service and maintenance of various Department of Public Safety (DPS) managed programs and systems for all aspects of the Casino, Hotel and Tribal Government Access Control databases. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responds to phone calls, emails, voicemail, verbal requests and work orders. Issues and tracks work orders; documenting all repairs, services and maintenance performed. Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure timely resolution of service issues. Manages vendor activities related to emergency repairs of all security systems, including after-hours system failures, troubleshooting hardware and equipment issues, and restoring systems to proper operating condition. 2. Participate in the development, planning, and management of processes and practices for new security functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and community goals. Establishes work techniques and ensures compliance with professional standards, directives, approved procedures and policies, applicable federal and state regulations, Tribal ordinances, and all Indian gaming-related regulations. 3. Manages Radio Communications workstations to monitor after-hours system status, perform diagnostics, conduct system repairs, and execute resets. Creates DSX workstation profiles, including programming of access levels, time zones, and holiday schedules. Coordinates system maintenance, equipment replacement, and repair scheduling across multiple locations, collaborating with shops and vendors. Supports planning, procurement, and access control processes. Enacts user accounts for multiple information systems by granting, provisioning, and de-provisioning identities and access in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. 4. Identifies and troubleshoots low-voltage electrical issues such as loose connections, grounded wiring, damaged insulation, and electrical current irregularities. Installs raceways and conduits, and tests and repairs electrical circuits and sensors in accordance with industry standards. Conducts monthly testing of backup batteries, keypads, and sensors. Participates in semi-annual alarm compliance testing to ensure all alarm devices are properly identified and fully operational. 5. Supports new projects in both existing and new construction by assisting with vendor selection, technology upgrades, product evaluation, system testing, field verification, and inspection of work in progress for compliance with contracts and security industry standards. Facilitates security system integration and software updates and assists in training Public Safety team members on the maintenance and operation of all security systems. 6. Identifies and resolves issues related to team member badge access levels, onboarding badge setup, access control system profiles, and construction vendor credentials timely and accurately; adopts effective and reasonable courses of action swiftly, considering all relevant circumstances. Addresses equipment-related questions and resolve complaints efficiently. 7. Maintains inventory of essential parts, equipment, tools and test equipment to support efficient and continuous operation of all security systems. 8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
