About The Position

The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for working closely with facility, operations and security teams to maintain a secure studio site and address any security issues. This position will be fully onsite based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan with expectations of occasional travel to Southfield, MI.

Requirements

  • Execution of job duties requires secondary (higher, special etc.) education or relevant experience and proven track record in the related discipline.
  • Fluency in English both spoken and written.
  • High sense of responsibility; honesty, integrity.
  • Required ability to work within the team.
  • Required strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in physical security, security systems and physical security planning.
  • Experience in Physical Security testing and auditing.
  • Detailed knowledge of physical security threats, vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
  • Understanding and experience involvement with facility maintenance and fire and safety regulations (facility team, Fire and safety).

Responsibilities

  • Audit physical security equipment and tasks on a regular basis to their assigned studio
  • Manage, train and approve budget for the contracted security guards.
  • Report and correct all identified issues during audits, tickets or meetings.
  • To work closely with the facility, office management and security teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist IT staff in the resolution of reported security incidents.
  • Participation in security investigations and compliance reviews, as requested by internal or external auditors.
  • Research and assess new threats and security alerts, and recommend remedial actions.
  • Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
  • Write detailed, security incident reports and track status through their lifecycle.
  • Manage security systems (like CCTV; access control).
  • Wire and conduct basic troubleshooting on CCTVs, Servers, fingerprint readers and door controls.
  • Participate on company internal/external audits.
  • Manage Physical Security responsibilities in multiple locations, travel will be required.
  • The employee is responsible for proper, high quality and timely execution of his job obligations and given tasks.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Report any threat, vulnerability, weakness to direct manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by Physical Security Manager – North America
