About The Position

As a part of the Global Protection Services (GPS) team, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and Global Protection Officer, the Physical Security Manager supports the business by minimizing risk and creating a safe work environment. Its dual purpose is personnel safety (access control, emergency planning, training) and operational risk minimization (protecting infrastructure/assets). GPS coordinates crisis response to mitigate liabilities, ensuring secure operations. The Boston-based Physical Security Manager safeguards physical assets, personnel, and infrastructure, utilizing technical security expertise, risk assessment, and policy development. The role helps oversee Corporate Headquarters and supports Global Offices, ensuring adherence to security protocols, managing incidents, and adapting policies to local regulations. This involves coordinating with local security across Klaviyo Hubs and providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years professional experience in corporate security
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, collaborative abilities, and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work with highly confidential information
  • Knowledge of industry standard physical security design and architecture
  • Working knowledge of physical security systems to include, but not limited to intrusion detection systems, access control systems, video management systems and other security related software/hardware
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Google-suite applications and software
  • At a minimum, the ability to stand for long periods, walk for extended times, climb ladders, and lift/carry items ranging from 25 to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Integrations: Knowledge of security technologies like CCTV cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, and intrusion detection devices.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspecting and servicing these systems to guarantee optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Monitoring: In coordination with our Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), continuously watching surveillance feeds and system alerts, responding to alarms, and ensuring system health.
  • Surveys: Conducting comprehensive physical security surveys of facilities and properties to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Threat Assessments: Evaluating potential threats and hazards, including unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and violence, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Development: Creating detailed physical security policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Implementation: Ensuring these policies and procedures are effectively communicated and enforced throughout the organization.
  • Training: Providing security awareness training to staff members on procedures such as emergency response, access control, and incident reporting.
  • Education: Keeping staff informed about potential security threats and best practices for maintaining a safe environment.
  • Assistance: Participating in the response to security incidents, including investigating breaches, coordinating with law enforcement, and mitigating further risks.
  • Response: emergency response to fire, medical, threats, suspicious activity, activated alarms and other building emergencies.
  • Resolution: Working to resolve security issues efficiently and effectively to minimize impact on operations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of security events, incidents, logs, and reports.
  • Reporting: Generating reports for management on security performance, incident analysis, and system maintenance.
  • Regulations: Ensuring that all security measures comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Audits: Participating in security audits to identify areas for improvement and maintain compliance.
  • Event Security and Planning.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
