Come join our journey, and experience what it means to be Done Right with Rhoads . We are currently looking for a Physical Security Manager to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Physical Security Manager is a trusted advisor to leadership on physical security risks and mitigation strategies. They are responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and continuously improving programs that protect employees, contractors, visitors, and physical assets. This role is responsible for physical security, parking, workplace violence prevention, emergency preparedness, and security risk mitigation across facilities. The Physical Security Manager partners closely with Operations, HR, IT, Facilities, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to foster a proactive security culture while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in physical security, law enforcement, investigations, and risk management (Prior law enforcement experience preferred).
  • Demonstrative knowledge of workplace security standards, emergency response, and physical security practices.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Excellent judgement, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or multi-site environments.
  • Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and incident management software.
  • This role requires regular on-site presence and the ability to respond to incidents outside of normal business hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) preferred.
  • Experience working with union environments or regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive physical security program across all Rhoads facilities in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to facility access, property protection, and employee safety.
  • Identify trends and develop corrective actions to reduce incidents and security risks.
  • Manage access control systems, surveillance, alarm monitoring, and security vendor relationships.
  • Establish and enforce site security protocols, visitor management processes, and asset protection measures.
  • Partner with local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Crisis Management Plan.
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning, including evacuation plans, lockdown procedures, and business continuity coordination.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact during security incidents, coordinating response efforts and post-incident investigations.
  • Oversee incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Produce professional, expert, and grammatically correct reports summarizing findings and making recommendations for next steps.
  • Participate in audits and inspections and lead corrective action follow-up.
  • Independently manage and conduct comprehensive investigations into a variety of complex claims and allegations, such as workers' compensation, employee matters, and property theft.
  • Conduct thorough interviews with witnesses, suspects, and other relevant parties using professional, proven interview techniques.
  • Perform surveillance (stationary, mobile, or remote) as required, documenting all evidence with detailed date and time stamps.
  • Collaborate with clients, law enforcement agencies, and regulators when necessary.
  • Testify in court or at hearings if required.
