About The Position

As a Physical Security Engineer, you will perform a key role in delivering and sustaining physical security infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's special programs Sovereign Cloud. This includes managing the health of physical security systems through break/fix operations, application and associated infrastructure management, business continuity planning, participating in on-call DRI rotation for support, ensuring systems & hardware are configured in alignment with customer requirements, driving program improvements in partnership with other teams, and enabling the delivery of new highly secure datacenter capacity through programming access control and video systems. Requirements

Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), or operations incident response OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), or operations incident response OR equivalent experience.
Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required pre-offer and post-hire for this role.
Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements.
You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.
Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law.
To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance .

Nice To Haves

5+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection.
OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
Lenel Certifications, CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and/or Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

Program physical access control and video systems as part of the delivery of new high security datacenters.
Provide inputs on security design standards and requirements for access control and video programming to drive programmatic improvements.
Participate in on-call DRI rotation to support physical security systems.
Assess data related to the health of security systems and infrastructure to identify gaps, performance trends, compliance with system configuration standards, and recommend & execute repeatable strategies to address issues at scale and within specialized deployments.
Participate in engineering projects to replace end of life hardware, apply system patches, upgrade security systems, and architectural improvements that improve our overall security posture.
Manage physical security systems lifecycle support and compliance, hosting regular datacenter site meetings in partnership with security operations and facility management teams to proactively address site security system health, and coordinate maintenance and repair services with internal and external service providers.
Collaborate with partner engineering, project management, and design teams to drive strategic initiatives that help to improve security outcomes, reduce costs & complexity, and improve the overall effectiveness of the program.
