Primary Position Purpose: Collaborate with vendor responsible for employee accessibility to U.S. Xpress buildings. Perform initial trouble-shooting assessment as to why badge equipment is not functioning accurately while assisting in daily security operations, security alarm monitoring, and managing the physical security service at the terminals. Work with various U.S. Xpress business units and execute security for facility projects and special events.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required
  • Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested
  • 5+ years' experience with physical security issues and access control systems required
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus
  • Must possess strong diagnostic capabilities
  • Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse team of people and with all levels of management
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with rapidly changing work priorities and peak periods
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Tools and Windows
  • Adept at assessing organizational dynamics and managing change
  • Works quickly and efficiently. Able to test solutions, learn, and iterate quickly
  • Proactive and pragmatic problem solver
  • Communicates effectively across multiple mediums

  • Experience with OnGuard/Lenel system preferred
  • Transportation and/or Logistics industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the nation-wide badging function, ensuring consistency with process and record retention.
  • Develop or update requirements, procedures and/or policies to meet changing business or risk conditions.
  • Complete monthly quality assurance reports and audits of badging operations and generate usage and system reports as needed.
  • Provide managerial oversight for contracted security teams across terminal locations ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards.
  • Develop or update metrics to meet business needs.
  • Provide support to on-boarding programs.
  • Creator of access levels, segments, and other access management system needs.
  • Provide necessary training regarding proper badging operations and other system work-steps.
  • Track all invoices to the department and upload into AP management systems.
  • As directed, research security footage for U.S. Xpress Transportation terminals.
  • Create or provide input to department training and operational manuals (digital manual, job aids) and cascade to badging operators.
  • Provide basic data entry and administration support as needed as well as after hours (nights and weekends) coverage as needed.
  • Refine and update technical and business skills through work assignments and advanced technical and business training.
  • Conduct threat assessments at terminal properties to evaluate and enhance overall security at their location and work with Waldron and Terminals to assure the electric fencing functionality and performance.
  • Evaluate contracted security guard performance, make recommendations for needs and improvements.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
  • Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce.
  • Attend all in-person meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives. Participate in such discussions by offering input and advice.
  • Regularly engage remotely and in-person with customers and potential customers to establish rapport, open communication, and expectations.
