About The Position

The Periscope Group is seeking licensed physical or occupational therapists to conduct one-time, in-home medical necessity assessments as independent consultants. Consultants assess members in their homes and provide recommendations for equipment, services, and care to support their independence. They complete documentation through a secure online portal accessible from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Consultants set their own schedules within assessment timeframes. Compensation is $135 to $200 per assessment, depending on location and assessment type. Founded in 1997, The Periscope Group is a privately held consulting company that provides accurate, timely, and objective reports to help medical management teams serve vulnerable populations. Its services reach all demographics and lines of business across 46 states.

Requirements

Current licensure as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist; PTAs and COTAs are not eligible.
Malpractice or liability insurance, which may be purchased at the time of job offer.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, navigate stairs and varied home environments, and perform physical assessments as needed.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to and from member homes.
Proficiency with technology, including navigating online portals and uploading documents using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Background in home safety assessments.
Familiarity with durable medical equipment.
Experience with home modifications.
Work history involving diverse medical conditions.
