About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a physical medicine aide/rehab aide to support acute care patient needs in the Rehabilitation department at M Health Fairview St John's Hospital in Maplewood! The role assists with patient care under the direction of a therapist, transporting patients to/from Rehab gym, managing equipment, cleaning Rehab spaces and equipment, scheduling therapy appointments, light clerical tasks and other tasks as needed - providing general support to the department. FTE: 0.5 (authorized for 40 hours per pay period). Local SEIU, contract position. Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 8:00am - 4:30pm and one full weekend per month. One holiday per year required (TBD). Fairview Rehabilitation offers a range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent
Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Provides hands on assistance to patients in the practice of repetitive activities to facilitate treatment.
Cleans and maintains department and equipment.
Maintains an inventory of supplies to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
