About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly, stable, and efficient flow of materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the plant within the required timeframe to support production builds. The position ensures accurate SAP transactions, loads and unloads freight, and transfers materials between the warehouse and work centers. The Material Handler will effectively support all areas of receiving, shipping, warehouse, and associated inventory tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Powered industrial truck permit/competence on all related equipment being utilized at Dixon.
  • Class C License Required.
  • Good safety and attendance record.
  • Prior PIT experience required.
  • One year of experience required.
  • Good math, reading, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) System.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills.
  • PC literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • The ability to adapt schedule to meet customer shipping/production/receiving schedules.
  • Good organizational skills - neat and orderly.
  • Strong keyboarding and scanning skills.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP transactions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a teamwork approach to achieving goals.
  • Convey materials to or from storage areas to designated areas, using a forklift/powered industrial truck, hand-truck, tugger, Drive truck (c-class), or other device.
  • Work safely and within the established safe work practices, policies, and procedures of the Dixon plant.
  • Use required PPE, follow safety rules and procedures, train others, and comply with the plant code of conduct.
  • Attend safety and health training sessions and practice good housekeeping.
  • Assist materials and manufacturing teams in maintaining a well-organized plant area that supports a visual factory philosophy.
  • Assist materials and manufacturing teams in verifying inventory accuracy and identifying appropriate corrective actions.
  • Act quickly and efficiently to correct related issues.
  • Highlight areas in need of continuous improvement and work with the team to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare freight for shipment.
  • Load and unload freight as required, effectively utilizing all appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Stretch wrap and/or band materials for shipment.
  • Organize returnables for safe storage within the returnable storage area.
  • Match SAP paperwork with materials to shipments.
  • Verify data integrity of shipments before loading materials onto trucks.
  • Perform SAP shipping transactions as necessary.
  • Examine Bill of Ladings and Packing Tickets for data accuracy.
  • Examine receipts for damage.
  • Ensure all parts and containers are properly labeled, documented, transacted, stored, and accounted for.
  • Conduct all necessary proofing.
  • Notify appropriate personnel when there are any non-conformances.
  • Organize and prepare scrapped materials for pick up.
  • Perform SAP receiving transactions as necessary.
  • Pick materials for staging shipments.
  • Pick materials for tugger route deliveries to support production demands.
  • Refill marketplace areas from high-density warehouse locations.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to inventory accuracy of the warehouse by supporting the cycle count.
  • Pick up waste and recyclables from departments, sort and place in compactor and/or recycle bins.
  • Break down packaged materials to support point-of-use consumption levels.
  • Perform SAP warehouse transactions as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
