About The Position

This is a temporary assignment for a Physical Education/Wellness Teacher at Fishers Junior High School, starting upon hire and continuing through December 18, 2026. The role involves meeting and instructing assigned classes, developing a positive learning environment, and employing various instructional techniques. The teacher will also be responsible for evaluating student progress, upholding school rules, and communicating with parents. Additionally, the position requires nurturing positive professional relationships, demonstrating respect, supporting corporation decisions, and working collaboratively as a team player.

Responsibilities

Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the available resources.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the available resources.
Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Evaluate student progress.
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policy.
Assist in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
Work to establish and open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning student academic and behavioral progress.
Perform all other reasonable assigned duties.
Nurture a positive relationship with super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
Demonstrate respect for super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
Support corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives.
Work as a team player.
Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
