About The Position

GEO Academies is a national, non-profit network of open-enrollment public charter schools. The Physical Education Teacher at 21st Century Charter School at Gary develops and implements a comprehensive physical education program for students in grades K–2, promoting physical fitness and healthy living through engaging, challenging classes. The teacher assesses student progress, provides feedback to students and parents, collaborates with teachers and staff to integrate physical education into the curriculum, and maintains a safe and clean class environment. This is a 10-month position reporting to the Principal and Administrative team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
• State teaching certification in Physical Education.
• Experience teaching physical education to students of all ages.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
• Passion for promoting physical fitness and healthy living.
• Knowledge of the latest research and trends in physical education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education program for students.

• Plan and lead engaging and challenging physical education classes.
