Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Physical Education Teacher is responsible for developing students' physical skills and abilities, fostering an understanding of the importance of exercise for physical, mental, and social well-being, and motivating students towards physical fitness, proper hygiene, and good health. This role involves developing and administering Physical Education classes, teaching motor skills, individual and teamwork activities, and concepts related to health and physical fitness for a lifetime. The teacher will also focus on developing students' leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills within a safe and optimal learning environment, providing feedback on progress, and assessing student growth. Continuous professional development, accurate record-keeping, coordination of extra-curricular activities, and effective communication with parents are also key aspects of the position. Ensuring student conduct aligns with school standards and maintaining a functional learning atmosphere are crucial. Collaboration with other staff, selection and maintenance of instructional aids, and inspection of equipment are also required. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
