About The Position

Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a Physical Education, Driver's Ed, and Health Teacher for our High School for the current school year and beyond. We are looking for someone to begin as soon as possible. Empowerment Academy is a dynamic and successful charter school that truly supports its teachers and staff. Empowerment has four of its own campuses, and BelovED is our “sister school.” We serve a mix of students that are among the most diverse in America while enjoying the cultural vibrance of Jersey City, Hoboken and New York City. Requirements

• Hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, CEAS, Limited CE or Standard Certificate in Physical Education/Health.
• A powerful commitment to the mission and goals of Empowerment.
• Desire to be part of a “WHATEVER IT TAKES” team.

Nice To Haves

• Driver's Ed certification is a major plus.
• Candidates with a Sub Cert IF they are in the process of getting a PE Certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach Physical Education, Driver's Ed, and Health.
• Plan lessons and solve problems with peers in professional learning communities (PLCs).
• Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
• Work with students to help them master skills, concepts, and knowledge items.
• Support students struggling with non-academic problems.
