Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding cloud infrastructure and powers Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services and the Microsoft Azure platform globally, with a focus on smart growth, high efficiency, and trusted customer experiences. As Microsoft’s cloud business continues to grow, the Methodology, Infrastructure, Silicon Engineering, and Labs Engineering (MILE) team helps improve the quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability of Microsoft cloud hardware. We develop the physical design methodologies, tools, and automation that enable silicon design teams to deliver new hardware efficiently and reliably. We are looking for a Silicon CAD Engineer II specializing in silicon implementation to join the team. In this role, you will contribute to the development, validation, deployment, and support of physical design tools that are designing the Microsoft’s next-generation silicon programs. You will work with experienced engineers, design teams, and EDA partners to troubleshoot flow and tool issues, improve automation and quality, and build hands-on expertise with industry-standard technologies such as Fusion Compiler or Innovus.
