About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Physiatrist specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in Duluth, MN. The role involves clinical duties and on-call responsibilities in an inpatient setting. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, with a standard Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm shift schedule. The physician will also participate in a 24-hour in-house call rotation every third week, with a 1:3 call ratio and a 30-minute response time. This coverage is supplemental, and travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. The average daily patient volume is 8-14, with approximately 5 admissions. Responsibilities include rounding on assigned patients and answering phone consultations. The facility uses the Epic EMR system and is supported by RNs, MAs, and office staff. Hospital privileges are not required, as temporary privileges are available.
Requirements
- Board Certified
- Active MN license or willing to obtain
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Proficiency in performing EMG and nerve conduction studies (NCS).
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop rehabilitation plans for individuals with physical disabilities or impairments.
- Manage inpatients with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and other disabling conditions.
- Perform electrodiagnostic studies, including electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS).
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, nurses, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide In-House call coverage on a rotating basis (approximately 1:3) to manage acute rehabilitation needs and consults.
