About The Position
This is a 0.62 FTE Term position for a Phys Ed P-5 teacher. Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Teachers' Provincial Agreement. The posting closes at midnight on June 24th, 2026. Teachers are expected to provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, implement strategies for promoting student learning based on individual needs, demonstrate best practices in assessment, attend meetings and professional development, and maintain and submit all records in online systems.
Requirements
- Provide 3 professional/supervisory, work-related references, their email addresses and their phone numbers in your SuccessFactors application.
- References must be able to speak to an applicant’s teaching abilities.
- AVRCE will require referees to provide reference checks prior to noon on June 26.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
- Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
- Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
- Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
