About The Position

The Pendleton High School has its own wrestling building plus a new weight training facility. This position is open until filled. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have high ethical and professional standards. They must have knowledge of a variety of techniques and strategies to teach and coach wrestling, as well as knowledge of team dynamics at the high school level. A plan to create a productive relationship with youth sports organizations and establish a relationship with community support groups is also required. The coach must be an appropriate role model for high school student-athletes and possess the ability to work in a cooperative and harmonious manner as part of a school-wide athletic program. Responsibilities include developing and implementing an off-season conditioning program and summer workouts, and being creative and involved in fundraising programs. Proven experience coaching wrestling and/or playing at a high level is necessary, demonstrating the ability to coach all levels of high school athletes. Working knowledge of high school wrestling operations and a strong commitment to the academic growth and character of the student-athlete are essential. Good communication and organizational skills are also required.

  • NFHS Certification
  • First Aid Card (CPR and AED trained)
  • District Fingerprinting/Criminal check
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Completion of OSAA Concussion Test
  • Completion of OSAA Steroid Test
  • Completion of School District and OSAA paperwork.
