About The Position

The PHP Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality database-driven web applications with a focus on backend functionality. This role involves collaborating with a team of developers to deliver robust and scalable web solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in web development, relational databases, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in PHP development
  • Proficiency in SQL (MySQL, HANA, and SQL Server) and ability to write and optimize SQL queries
  • Strong understanding of version control systems, such as Git
  • Experience with web performance optimization
  • Experience in Linux system administration
  • Experience developing and integrating with RESTful APIs

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CSS and JavaScript (Bootstrap 5 is a plus)
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy high-quality web applications using PHP, SQL and relevant web technologies
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services into web applications
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and support to junior developers
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to improve skills and knowledge continuously
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, including user guides and API documentation
  • Contribute to the improvement of the web development process and practices within the team
  • Work efficiently to ensure uptime and optimum user experience
  • Understanding of common web application security concerns and their mitigation
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of Linux servers
