About The Position

Land F/X is seeking a skilled, organized, and detail-oriented PHP & Database Programmer to develop, maintain, and improve its websites, web-based applications, and internal systems. The role involves hands-on programming, including writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining code; developing features; and troubleshooting technical issues. The successful candidate will work independently and collaborate with developers and other departments. Land F/X develops and sells professional design software add-ons for AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit, serving landscape architects, irrigation designers, architects, and engineers. The company has more than 40 employees and provides software to professionals in dozens of countries. It is a fully remote company, with employees working from home across multiple states. This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $85,000–$100,000 per year, depending on experience. Applications will be accepted through December 1, 2026. Requirements

3–5 years of professional PHP programming, website development, or related web-application development experience.
Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PHP-based websites and database-driven applications.
Experience working with JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, MySQL, Linux environments, and Git.
Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, MySQL, and Linux commands.
Strong knowledge of Git, source control, and standard development practices.
Strong understanding of front-end and back-end web development, website architecture, and database-driven applications.
Experience with web design, layout, and content management systems such as WordPress or Joomla.
Familiarity with appropriate IDEs, development tools, and debugging techniques.
Ability to write, review, troubleshoot, and maintain clean, efficient, and understandable code.
Understanding of website security, testing procedures, and development best practices.
Ability to identify technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop appropriate solutions.
Ability to use AI-based development tools for coding, troubleshooting, debugging, and improving development efficiency while ensuring accuracy and code quality.
Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, collaborate with others, manage multiple assignments, and meet established deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and improve company websites, web-based applications, and internal systems using PHP, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, MySQL, and other applicable technologies.
Write, test, debug, and maintain code in accordance with company standards and development practices.
Develop and maintain web-based CAD dialog boxes and related functionality.
Develop and maintain the company’s internal administrative systems (IAS), Customer Portal, CRM, and data entry systems.
Troubleshoot programming errors, database issues, and website or application performance problems.
Review existing code, implement updates and enhancements, and identify opportunities to improve functionality, performance, security, and reliability.
Collaborate with developers and other departments to understand project requirements, resolve technical issues, and implement solutions.
Manage assigned development tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate progress, delays, or concerns to the Director of Web Development, Project Manager, executives, and team members.
Provide estimates for assigned development work and identify potential technical challenges or dependencies.
Follow coding standards, security requirements, source control procedures, and testing practices.
Research new technologies and development tools, including AI-based tools, and recommend improvements as appropriate.
Maintain technical documentation and document code changes and development work.
Assist with technical needs related to trade shows, conferences, marketing initiatives, and company events, including occasional on-site work.
Perform other programming, website development, and related duties as assigned.
