About The Position

Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news. This is a part-time temporary role to run from August 24th - November 30th.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in photojournalism, video editing and non-linear editing systems preferred.
  • Strong photography and storytelling skills with an eye for capturing emotion and memorable moments.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable, dependable and available to work Friday evenings throughout the football season.
  • Knowledge of EDIUS or other non-linear editing software preferred.
  • Experience with live broadcasting equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a news-gathering vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Capture dynamic video and sound that tells compelling stories from Friday night football games and other sports assignments.
  • Edit highlight packages and feature content under tight deadlines for broadcast, streaming and digital platforms.
  • Operate an ENG vehicle or IP-based live transmission equipment (TVU) when assigned.
  • Set up and execute live shots from game locations when needed.
  • Work independently or alongside reporters and producers to deliver high-quality sports coverage.
  • Contribute creative ideas that enhance sports storytelling across all platforms.
  • Maintain cameras, editing equipment and other assigned gear.
