About The Position

Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Multimedia student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2027 at our Greenwood Village, Colorado office. Merrick’s Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands-on experience for students. Designed as a shorter-term, exploratory experience, internships allow students to apply what they’re learning in school while gaining exposure to real projects, professional collaboration, and day-to-day life at an employee-owned company. The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2027.

Requirements

  • Must have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible.
  • Must be pursuing a degree in photography, videography, multimedia production, digital media, or related field.
  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year of undergraduate degree or higher.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and/or After Effects.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of photography and videography principles, including composition, lighting, exposure, camera operation, editing, culling, and audio capture.
  • Experience creating photo and video content through coursework, internships, student organizations, freelance work, or personal projects.
  • Demonstrated interest in visual storytelling and creative content development.
  • Ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and ask thoughtful questions to support project goals.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including digital file and asset management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with creative, marketing, and technical teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated learner with a willingness to develop technical and creative skills.
  • Portfolio or Showreel showcasing photography, videography, editing, or multimedia projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in the functional areas of photography and videography.
  • Capture and edit professional photography and video content for marketing, communications, and business development initiatives.
  • Learn professional workflows for project planning, shot list development, production, post-production, and asset delivery.
  • Work with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, OpenAsset, and monday.com.
  • Learn techniques for photo retouching, color grading, audio editing, and video production.
  • Collaborate with creative professionals, marketers, subject matter experts, and technical teams.
  • Gain real-world experience managing digital assets, file organization, and content libraries.
  • Understand the marketing and communications needs of the architecture, engineering, and construction industries.
  • Receive mentorship, constructive feedback, and coaching from experienced creative professionals.
  • Contribute to a variety of projects, including company culture initiatives, events, project storytelling, recruiting, social media, and client-facing marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with other marketing professionals.
  • Interface with engineers, project managers, and management.
  • Follow schedules and meet deadlines while working independently.
  • Develop a strong understanding of multimedia, including photography, videography, and digital asset management.
