About The Position

The Photography Assistant/intern aids a team of professional photographers by helping plan, set up, and execute photoshoots. The role may also involve interacting with customers, editing photos, and distributing completed photo projects. A successful assistant has a passion for photography and in-depth knowledge of lighting and editing techniques, and handles the details of a shoot so the principal photographer can capture the intended images.

Requirements

• Diploma in photography or a similar qualification.
• Previous experience working as a photographer assistant may be required.
• Passion for photography.
• Knowledge of photography lighting and equipment.
• Knowledge of how to use a camera and develop images in Lightroom and Photoshop.
• Industry knowledge and experience.
• Strong communication skills, including clear speaking and precise writing, listening carefully, and asking questions when needed.
• Cooperation and teamwork skills.
• Creativity and the ability to generate new ideas or approach tasks in new ways.
• Initiative in identifying and acting on tasks without being asked.
• Dependability in producing quality results within the proper time frame and following established processes and procedures.
• Attention to detail, including the ability to provide work-status updates and produce requested documentation or information.

• A naturally creative outlook and a good eye for color and style.

Responsibilities

• Assist with photoshoots.
• Serve as the second shooter on site.
• Capture product, lifestyle, and lay-flat shots.
• Complete post-production on images.
• Color-correct images.
• Use Google Drive, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier, Slack, Asana, and Google.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by management.
