About The Position

Paramount is on a mission to entertain the planet and is looking for a passionate Photojournalist/Editor for KPIX TV to join their team. This role involves shooting and editing news stories, requiring knowledge of contemporary lighting techniques and professional audio equipment for ENG work. The Photojournalist/Editor will be a full member of an Agile team, participating in meetings and planning, and working both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include monitoring on-demand and live-streaming assets, prioritizing issues, and supporting a 24x7 operation. Basic vehicle maintenance and a positive approach to problem-solving are also necessary. The role requires a flexible work schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to edit a 2-minute news package in 30 minutes or less. The Photojournalist/Editor must be a self-starter, capable of generating content across all CBS platforms using available equipment, and possess excellent verbal communication and documentation skills.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of Photography/Editing experience in a major market is required.
  • At least 5 years in Live TV or a Live Streaming role, with an emphasis on live sporting events.
  • Knowledge of nonlinear editing techniques, cloud-based Media Asset Management systems, audio mixing, general knowledge of legacy formats, animated graphics, etc.
  • Must maintain a Valid Dirver's License in good standing.
  • Solid grasp of local and wide area computer networks, their components.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • B.A. degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
  • An Extensive knowledge of the Bay Area is preferred.
  • Satellite uplink truck experiences are a plus.
  • The ability to produce Nat packages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Shooting and editing of News stories.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary lighting techniques.
  • Fully understand the use of professional audio equipment commonly used in ENG work.
  • Being a full member of the Agile team, taking part in all regular meetings and planning.
  • Working both independently and together with the other partners on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Monitoring on-demand and live-streaming assets, and prioritizing any issues.
  • Being acquainted with Frontline vans and ENG vans.
  • Resolving issues quickly with local and wide area computer networks and their components.
  • Supporting our 24x7 operation.
  • Monitoring/performing basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Editing a 2-minute news package in 30 minutes or less.
  • Generating content on all CBS platforms using all equipment at your disposal.
  • Maintaining workflows and dashboard functionality.
  • Producing Nat packages is a plus.
