About The Position

KSTU, the E.W. Scripps Fox affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a Full-Time Temporary Photographer who will bring visual storytelling to life across multiple platforms. You'll be at the heart of breaking news and feature stories, operating cutting-edge equipment and collaborating with our newsroom team to deliver content that connects with our community. Requirements

• Proficiency with lighting and computer-based editing
• Proficiency with live microwave truck operation
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's websites
• Able to work efficiently under multiple deadlines on a daily basis
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company-required insurance limits

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in related discipline preferred
• Generally 2+ years of experience in related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
• Operate and maintain live equipment including microwave, satellite, and related news-gathering equipment.
• Work in tandem with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories.
• Team up with reporters to create packages with compelling video.
• Shoot vosots and natural sound packages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
