About The Position

The Photographer/Editor is responsible for providing daily video coverage of news, sports, and features on location. This role involves video photography and editing of news stories and other special projects for broadcast. The ideal candidate will have experience with live ENG live trucks, LiveU live devices, field lighting, and audio equipment, along with a working knowledge of state-of-the-art editing and camera equipment. The position requires good judgment for covering news stories in the field and the ability to work under pressure to meet newsroom deadlines.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in non-linear editing (WPLG uses Avid Newscutter/Media Composer).
  • Excellent videography and editing skills.
  • Experience with live ENG live trucks and the operation of LiveU live devices.
  • Experience with field lighting and audio equipment.
  • Working knowledge of state-of-the-art editing and camera equipment.
  • Good judgment to work in the field covering news stories.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to meet newsroom deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • Capability of traveling out of town on assignment.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, investigative background check, employment/education verifications and reference checks.
