About The Position

Seeking a motivated PHOTOGRAMMETRIST to support product evaluations, quality studies, and new product initializations. The specific tasks and activities to be performed include, but are not limited to: Understanding of sensor modeling; decomposing product formation elements to quantify the overall quality of the image chain. Geolocation and mensuration accuracy assessments. Understanding of modeling geometric collection processes to trace the exact location of a point on the ground to the pixel location on an image. Support engineering analysis activities, including assessment projects related to the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG). Performing baseline assessment of system performance to support sensor initialization. Operational monitoring of system performance over time. Responding to detected errors by recommending possible causes and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a Top Secret clearance and willing to upgrade clearance to TS/SCI and sit for and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request- Contract requires TS/SCI with poly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Photogrammetry, Image Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with various exploitation software such as ARC-GIS, SOCET GXP, QT Modeler, Active Earthscape, ERDAS Imagine, or Remote View.
  • 5+ years of experience working with imagery and imagery platforms.
  • Geolocation and mensuration assessment experience.
  • Applied knowledge of sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processes.
  • Basic understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle to include independent testing and data verification.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with emphasis on briefing to obtain decisions and solve technical issues and test plans/reports writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn, solve problems and perform in a dynamic work environment.
  • Track record of delivering results.
  • Basic understanding of data sampling and statistics.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding and application of basic image quality standards, scales, and metrics.
  • Experience with image products and services such as the Digital Point Positioning Database (DPPDB), Controlled Image Base (CIB), or Orthorectified Commercial Imagery (CI-Ortho).
  • Image processing and Digital Signal processing experience.
  • Knowledge of NSG tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination (TCPED) image chain.
  • Experience with Mensuration Services Program (MSP).
  • ASPRS membership or professional certificate.
  • Experience working in a DoD or IC operational, technical, or research environment.
  • Experience developing engineering code (C, Python, Matlab, IDL) to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results.
