About The Position

The Photo/Video Production Intern will be responsible for acquiring, editing, and delivering photo/video assets for the Creative Marketing and Public Relations teams. A major focus of this role will be capturing media during special events to be distributed to news outlets for PR purposes. During Spring 2027, these events will include Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Barbie: You Can Be Anything The Experience, Building Black, and more. Requirements

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status majoring in Journalism, Media, Film, Photography, or related field at college/university/trade school.
  • Previous experience operating photo and video cameras.
  • Previous experience recording audio.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using Photoshop and Premiere Pro is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides photo and video services to support museum marketing and public relations needs, with a primary focus on the creation of media for distribution to news outlets and use on the museum’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube).
  • Performs time-sensitive post-production editing, including incorporating soundtracks and applying graphics as needed.
  • Must be flexible and able to work together with colleagues when managing photo and video shooting schedules; activities and events often occur outside of standard operating hours.
  • Assists in the ongoing development and maintenance of photo/video content in a large digital asset management system available to all museum departments.
