About The Position

The Phone Triage RN is responsible for triaging incoming calls to the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin After Hours Answering Service from patients, caregivers, and other health care providers. The nurse assesses patient needs and provides appropriate clinical options using triage protocols, which may include education about immediate care advice and preventative behavior. Calls are documented in Epic using a telephone encounter.

Requirements

A minimum of five years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care.
Completion of a minimum of two years of education at an accredited School of Nursing, sufficient for eligibility for Registered Nurse licensure.
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.

Nice To Haves

Seven or more years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care.
Bachelor's degree.
