About The Position
Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a dedicated team member to support our New Market West Center in a PHLpreK Preschool classroom as the Lead Teacher. In this role, you will lead the day-to-day classroom activities, using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD to guide instruction and support each child’s development.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in ECE/EDU or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working with children
- Strong teamwork and flexibility
- Leadership to build a strong teaching team
- Ability to keep information private
- Basic knowledge of childcare rules
- Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Lead daily classroom activities, including small group lessons and individualized support.
- Provide active supervision at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Observe and assess children’s progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD.
- Create and maintain an engaging classroom environment that support hands-on learning.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and the Wonderspring team.
- Support and guide assistant teachers to keep the classroom running smoothly.
- Comply with the partnership requirements of PHLpreK.
